Tuesday in the kitchen: Maths Week!
Today we looked at Measurement in the kitchen..
We had estimations- or really good guesses then used the equipment to check...
We then made popcorn and used it to measure which container could hold the most in it.
We were surprised that a piece of paper the same size could be made into different shapes to hold different amounts. Check out our group photos.

My learning
Mikayla wanted support to learn her timestables - especially her 6x.
She knows you can get your 6x if you know your 3x.
Use the 3x and times it by 2 or double it. Then you have the answer to your 6x tables.

Group Rua's Word problems- give them a go!
Write the maths 'number' story to match:
Ellie:
At breakfast my family and I ate two pieces of toast with jam. There are 5 people in my family. How many pieces of toast altogether?
Antony:
Five children left their glasses behind. How many eyes were finding it hard to see?
Amy:
In the morning me, my two sisters, dad and mum had weetbix. We had 10 weetbix altogether, how many do we eat each?
Hollie:
In my family I have 5 people. We had 2 weetbix each, how many did we eat altogether?
Ashton:
I had 2 pieces of toast for breakfast and I like toast! If I ate 2 pieces each school day. How many pieces would that be altogether?

Group Rua: writing our own word problems
We are listening to each other's word problems and recording it in a maths way. We are finding this tricky. This is allowing great discussions to happen.
