EV EN and O DD Numbers
We are playing with numbers and seeing which numbers can be put into two equal groups. These are known as 'even' numbers.
Today groups Rua and Tahi shared their ideas:
Emma says " a even number is like, 6, 4 , 8 and 100. You can split them in half. If you have 6 and take away three you have another three and that is an even number."
" Emma says two odd numbers will always make an even number?" Do you agree? Answer in the comments section...
Regan says " means that you can split it in half and make two groups."
Jasmine says " a even number is a number that can be split into two equal numbers."
Karlia says "an even number is 50, 100, 10 ,6. Because you can split them in half."
"If they cannot be split in half with no bits left over they are called odd numbers."
Teachers tip - Have a look at the number in the ones column or the last digit the number ends with.
Can you see which numbers are used?? What are they?
( - hint: 0,2,4,6,8)
