Using the Empty Number line to answer our word problem:

The date is 27 March and Bree's birthday is in 13 days time, what day is her birthday?? Before we could answer the question, what did we need to know?: How many days in the month of March - there are 31. Knowing the day after the 31 March is 1 April. We write the dates underneath and the jumps on top.
