Using a variety of equipment to help us problem solve.

Can you see the different equipment we are choosing to use?? We have the abacus, the place value blocks, the hundreds board, pencil and paper to draw an empty numberline.... What do you like to use? Kiralee created this problem for the group: At Dunkin Donuts there were 72 people in the shop, they all wanted chocolate donuts. However there were only eighteen donuts left. How many people missed out? How would you solve it??
